我的同事夏梅,与她的男朋友相恋七年,去年她们终于喜结良缘,终成眷属。
好事成双,双喜临门,夏梅这个月取得加拿大永久居民身份并收到美国绿卡。
Double Happiness to Charm
Charm is a Filipino girl. She has been working with me in the shoe store at McArthur Glen Designer Outlet near YVR airport for more than one year.
Today she told me she has obtained the approval of her Permanent Residence Status of Canada, and meanwhile received her US Green Card. I congratulated her on her double happiness.
In spring last year, the former store manager Faby told me that a Filipino girl would join our team. I thought she would be either an international student or a new immigrant. As a matter of fact, she, as a tourist, just came to Vancouver to get married with a Filipino guy a few months ago. According to the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Act, she gained her work permit three months later after her marriage.
Later on, she applied for Permanent Residence Status and her husband Arnold served as her sponsor. I realized that she underwent the immigration application process under the category of family reunion group through spousal sponsorship.
I have known that foreign people file their immigration applications in the name of skilled workers, investors, provincial nominee entrepreneurs and refugees.
This is the first time that I witnessed one of my colleagues had acquired her Permanent Residence Status by means of Spousal Sponsorship outside Canada.
Congratulations again to Charm.
