This afternoon I attended the seminar, which took place in the learning center of Small Business BC at the Waterfront Station Building. The topic today was "Negotiating Contracts: Get the Right Deal". It was the sixth seminar that I had participated in.
Having finished the seminar, I headed for the Pacific Center for lunch. After lunch, I walked swiftly along Granville Street to the Skytrain Station. I reached the entrance of Granville Skytrain Station when I came across several used books on sale on the ground. My eyes widened and the title on the book cover flashed in my mind. " The Poet's Craft" right here was the book that I had been seeking after for more than two years.
In spring, 2016, I was tutoring Jeremy English 10. He was a Chinese international student at a secondary school in Vancouver. He informed me of the books on English poetry recommended by his English teacher.
The books were "Language Power", "Canadian Grammar Spectrum 3" and "The Poet's Craft". I obtained the other two books when I taught him. The third book "The Poet's Craft was what I had craved for. It was my lucky day today that I possessed this treasure book for only a toonie.
The purchase of the book reminded me of the proverb: " One man's trash is another man's treasure."
As luck would have it, you might find a precious item that someone else regards as garbage some day.
