第一次见到这样的刹车盘

首先有两个卡钳,而且盘还不是圆的?为什么要设计成这个形状?

我猜rotor不是圆的原因是因为毕竟它是旋转部件。我的initial prediction是这种设计不但轻量化,而且把重量越靠近圆心的话越有利。

The physical interpretation is similar to swinging a bucket full of water with a rope where when exceeding a certain threshold of tangential velocity, the water doesn't spill out.
(omitting all the physics and math here)
The odd shape of the rotor is probably for:
1) weight reduction - skimping bits and pieces of metal off the rotor
2) cooling purposes with a new geometric setup.
