Full Time Quality Engineer

Innovative Bioceramix Inc. (IBC) is a Vancouver-based medical device company committed to developing and manufacturing high-quality medical products. As a dynamic conscientious team, we are looking for dedicated and reliable individuals who will take pride in their work, stand behind the quality and integrity of our products and be driven to excel in an environment where all team members have a substantial and significant impact on the results and success of the company. We offer a competitive base salary at $40,000 - $80,000/year + bonus + medical benefit (after 3 month probation periods).

Full-time quality engineer

Educational Background:

A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is usually required. Degrees in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or quality engineering are often preferred.

Regulatory Knowledge:

Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards and requirements is essential. For medical manufacturing, this may include ISO 13485 (Quality Management System for Medical Devices), FDA regulations, and other international standards.

Quality Management System (QMS) Experience:

Understanding and experience with implementing and maintaining a QMS is crucial. This includes knowledge of documentation, audits, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and risk management.

Statistical and Analytical Skills:

Ability to use statistical tools and techniques for data analysis, process control, and quality improvement. This may involve skills in statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), and data analysis using software like Minitab or statistical programming languages.

Problem-Solving Skills:

Quality engineers should be adept at identifying and solving problems in the manufacturing process. This involves root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and implementing corrective actions.

Risk Management:

Understanding and experience in risk management processes, such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), is important for mitigating risks associated with medical manufacturing.
Communication Skills:

Effective communication is crucial for interacting with cross-functional teams, management, and regulatory authorities. Quality engineers need to document their findings, write reports, and communicate issues clearly.

Audit Experience:

Experience in conducting internal and external audits is valuable. This includes preparing for audits, participating in audits, and addressing audit findings.

Continuous Improvement Mindset:

A commitment to continuous improvement is essential for ensuring that processes are constantly evaluated and enhanced. This involves staying informed about industry trends, new technologies, and best practices.
