Candidates should have formal commercial cooking experience and a minimum of 1 year of experience in cutting and chopping in a restaurant setting (Culinary School experience is an asset). This position will be responsible for reheating hot dishes, chopping BBQ, and general hot food plating.
Job Scope:
- Have a valid Food Safe Level 1 Certificate
- Maintaining a clean working environment and good personal hygiene
- Dishwashing and overall kitchen cleaning duties
- Understanding of FIFO and cold storage requirements
- Efficient and safe washing and cutting of vegetables
- Understanding of reheating timing and doneness of different meats
- Familiarity with hot holding requirements
- Reference proof of stable scheduling and punctuality
- Clear indication of availability (Please provide an accurate indication of your availability)
- At least one current reference with three months or more of work experience
- Must have a stable vehicle for commuting to work
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Good knowledge of sanitation and reheating guidelines
- Clear communication skills in English, with proficiency in Chinese speaking is a plus
- Proficiency in a second language is advantageous
- Ability to follow detailed process instructions safely and efficiently
- Strong multitasking, organizational, and ladling skills
- Customer-oriented and personable
Position Requirements
Key Position Requirement:
- 1-year commercial food service cutting and chopping experience
- Possession of a long-term work permit valid for 8 months or longer
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $3,800 - $4,000 per month
